EL VALIOSO TIEMPO DE LOS MADUROS

Filed under: Reflexión — Andrea Ximena @ 11:05 am

No tolero a maniobreros y ventajeros.

Latina/lingua project

Filed under: ELearning — Andrea Ximena @ 12:57 pm

This week the Latina/Lingua project has started with a team of people participants of the Latina summer course and belonging from different countries. Our major goal is to translate the Latina web site from english to another language. It is necessary to consider many aspects that can make us do an effective job and an accurate translation. Also is very important to consider the funtionality of the site. The languages included for the translations are Polish, Ucranian, Nepali and Spanish with the collaboration of Ewelina, Olena, Murari, Ambica and I respectively.

As I said before many aspects has to be considered when working in a project like this, first of all is important to have skills regarding the use of the informatic tool, in our case we are using the multiuser wordpress, although is a tool very user oriented everyone of us need to follow some guidelines in order to work effectively. In this sense, the instructions given by Tord the director were essential in order that all of us followed the same steps and can focus more on the content than in the practical issues regarding the tool. However, sometimes when some of us have a technical problem we received support from Tord or we tried to help each other and fix it very quickly.
Also, time was an important aspect, because this project is carried out in one week, it wasn’t necessarily to make the most pages translated in one day, as Tord said the important is the quality of them. However I tried to have a goal per each day and concentrate on that so at the end of the week I can have done at least the most part of the content.

Collaboration was important during this project, despite, each of us were working separately in every site for each language, many times we needed feedback from each other in practical and content related, also we have time to learn from each other about the other languages and cultures. For example, we made translations of some words in all the languages and we share how to pronounce it correctly.
In order to perform effectively, the use of google translate was very useful. I also get support from dictionaries online like the cambridge dictionaries, and my classmates feedback for some of the words meaning.

Thinking about the learning reach from this project, it was also sustainable. When translating is necessary to read the content even when you get support from the tools like the google translate. Reading was part of the learning this week, all the topics covered in the site are very interesting. While translating the reading resulted very fruitful for us, sometimes it is necessarily to describe the same in your own language form so that makes you reflect on the content.

Today exploring the world of teaching and learning with storytelling, I found this site, that probably many people know but I want to share with those who don’t know until now.
Everybody can create a story now and share and discuss with people around the world, It was so exciting form me to know that this existed and It was so available, and as a big new they have a digital library with the best voice thread publishing.
This is the announce of the news taken from the original site

The Digital Library is a database of articles about successful VoiceThread projects. Our hope is to create a resource that offers guidance and inspiration for people looking to undertake new projects using VoiceThread. Within each article is a detailed exploration of how these projects were created and what lessons were learned, because success can be replicated if it’s documented. We encourage you to share your VoiceThreads with the community and as this resource grows we’ll be adding categories and a search function to help you find relevant projects.

LATINA LAB week 3 Day 2

Filed under: ELearning,LATINA Lab — Andrea Ximena @ 12:30 pm

I felt very identified today with the learning events carried out, the first event on TEXTURE was very interesting, I think is more learning by touching and with art media, it is a very interesting topic, and it can put the seed for some thoughts about how to make a class about a topic I consider quite difficult to explain, also how can we use it in our daily life..
I liked a lot the learning event related with the project FRAGMENTS , I feel very identified because many of the technical concepts mentioned are very familiar for me since my background is technical informatic related, moreover, I found a relation with pedagogical aspects, sincerely is a very good work done, for teaching in this way, and as I mentioned in class my preocupation can lay on how to find the balance between technical and pedagogical aspects during a course like this, so the really purpose is not lost. I received a good feedback as well from my points of view. I think I would like to explore more this area.

LATINA-LAB Week 3 First day

Filed under: LATINA Lab — Andrea Ximena @ 1:15 pm

Today I felt very good from receiving feedback about my short oral presentation, I think I feel very confortable given the presentation, although, I know that some of my bad habits about speaking in public came out, I think it was good, because I could feel very aware of my weak point for improvement in the future, also, I am going to give a defense of the final project of the Master, and, I need a lot of practice for that day. Today, I considered the class very useful for this purpose in particular and also for my next learning events in LATINA LAB, this is a lot of training for me, but thats the only way of learn, at least for my personal style of learning.
The tips suggested for my classmates for making good presentations were also very useful, in order to pursue that your ideas can succeed, and the audience can have a clear picture of the message you was intended to transmit. Because I think at the end the important is How you transmit the stories, as the Gabriel Garcia Marquez quoted “Life is not what one lived, but what one remembers and how one remembers to tell”.

Organization and preparation tips
START WITH THE END IN MIND
KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE AS WELL AS POSSIBLE
CONTENT, CONTENT, CONTENT
KEEP IT SIMPLE — The essence of your message. Example think about If your audience could remember only three things about your presentation, what would you wanted to be?
OUTLINING YOUR CONTENT – scratch out your ideas and objectives with a pen and paper. Quick ideas for visuals such as charts or photos
and BRAIN RULES PRESENTATION
and some useful Tools
This Tool provide an innovative way of zooming the slides and the information on it I suggest to take a look in to the site if you want to prove one of the demos an understan better how it works
On the Web some good tools for sharing presentations are slidshare

what is an e-portfolio

For the Author, Eportfolio is a strategy to collect the evidence gained in the past and in the present in and out of school, that is in form of digital product or that can be transformed into a digital form, this evidence let that the ePortfolios has a meaning for the learner which is constructed with reflection, no matter the discipline, but with the purpose of showing a determined audience, what you have done along your process of learning that has a value for you and it shows in the best form your real interests, your feeling, your styles of learning, your passions and the ups and downs that you have experienced in order to get to the point you are in the present as a professional and as a person, and that can form the path for your future learning or practice.

eportafolio can be understood as an area supported by information technologies and the Internet that support the learning process of an individual whether he/she has the role of student, teacher or professional. This support is tangible through the collection of evidence showing the degree of reflection, supervised to ensure the learning process, collaboration securing the knowledge construction, an evaluated not entirely for the accreditation of competences.

Eva’s task in her learning event

Filed under: Uncategorized — Andrea Ximena @ 9:58 am

I have to accept that I was quite lost this morning in Eva’s learning event, it was my fault I have to admit that. In the process of learning there are many aspects affecting it, cognitivist, behaviourist, affective, anyway is my learning process and I think I need to reflect more about that, in terms of the reflections I got from this task, I found very useful to find that creativity makes you drive your thoughts to many places, although, I felt quite lost this morning, I realized that I wasn’t so lost when I found out that the result of the task wasn’t so far from mine. The title I gave to the paragraph was throwing the disc, so the task itself, get to the point, and this learning process included the new technologies, multimedia and social networks, reflection, god job made from Eva

Good day for new books

Filed under: Uncategorized — Andrea Ximena @ 11:48 am

The day 9 of Latina Lab bring us with getting win touch with three different books in different topics like economic, collaboration, and searching all of them with something in common Technology and Internet, How it has changed organizations, markets, people thoughts and accesability to information.
The long Tail this is the title of the book I chose after a short review I decided to read it, I consider that the behaviours of the market that are evedenced through the business on-line deserved to be studied depeer with this book if you want to play a good role as a costumer and as a seller no only in the commercial market but on the educative market as well.
Here comes everybody: The power of organizing without organizations ...this is another book that I would like to explore more because it touches the interesting part of how people have evolved to interact with each other growing as a communities with a common purpose rather than the differences among the participants.
The last group take the part of The Search book which tells about the leading company for searching and how it faces its rivals.
